Reviews and Ratings
My stay at Hotel Kachoan was absolutely delightful. The service was excellent, and the dinner was very nice. The room was spotless, offering a beautiful view of the city. However, the enthusiastic staff, though very friendly, might have been a touch overwhelming at times.
The hotel is ideally located near the old street and morning market, making it very convenient for exploring Takayama. The rooms are spacious, although too bright at times. The dining options are good, but limited in some aspects. The location is top-notch for accessing the historic streets and nearby attractions.
Staying at this Ryokan was a mixed experience. The rooms were clean and beautiful with traditional tatami floors and decorations, but they were on the smaller side and close to a smelly kitchen. The service was exceptional, making our traditional Japanese Ryokan stay truly memorable. The location was excellent, right in the heart of the charming town with easy access to Hida beef restaurants and the picturesque Miyagawa river. The dining options were a bit limited for my taste, and the quality was not on par. Overall, it was a stay with both highs and lows.
The hotel offers a great view of the red bridge and is conveniently located in the historical town area. The rooms, although a bit small and with a noticeable smell of green mats, provide a cozy stay. The service is exceptional, with staff going out of their way to assist guests. The dining experience, mainly Japanese-oriented, is satisfying but could see minor improvements. The location is brilliant, being right near the bridge into the old town, perfect for exploring the area.
